Phil Evans joined ClubSpecialists as Executive Vice President in 2009. Based on his extensive experience in financial markets and real estate, Phil's focus at CSI is to provide solutions for lenders and owners of stressed golf and country club communities to reposition the real estate potential of their asset/holdings.
Over the course of Phil's career he has negotiated development opportunities with the nation's largest homebuilders. His expertise includes analysis of new markets for residential and mixed-use communities, negotiation of land transactions and coordination of professional teams through the land development process.
Most recently, Phil formed MGD Development Group as a joint venture with Ginsburg Development of New York to develop land parcels in the Northeast, Florida and the Southwest. Prior to that Phil spent nearly a decade with Toll Brothers as Assistant to the Chairman, where he opened new markets throughout the U.S. and handled land acquisitions for Bucks, Montgomery, Delaware and Chester counties in Pennsylvania.
In 1978, Phil established Lanwin Group with investors from Hong Kong and the Philippines. As President and Managing Partner of Lanwin, Phil developed new real estate investment opportunities including land acquisitions and property syndication for tax shelter income and equity appreciation.
At the start of his career, Phil spent ten years on Wall Street specializing in domestic and international lending and offshore loan syndication with the banking firms of Chase Manhattan, Irving Trust Company and Banco Real SA. He was part of the team that established First Interamericas Corporation, a merchant bank. As Vice President of Acquisitions, Phil purchased the Underwriters Bank & Trust Company of New York and served as its Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
Phil received his Bachelor of Arts in Business & Economics from Villanova University. Â In addition, he holds a security license from the National Association of Security Dealers and The New York Stock Exchange, and a real estate broker's license.
