Rudy is a global executive and has held senior positions within the private club, golf, and resort business for the past 30 years. He brings a specialty expertise in private club and hospitality finance, transaction economics and integration of all club stakeholders’ interests. During his career his responsibilities have included, project acquisitions, distressed property reorganizations and the direct management of world class clubs and resorts. He understands the varied skills needed to succeed in multicultural environments.
His diverse background in the private club and resort industry includes responsibilities to a family ownership group for the due diligence, takeover, and initial reorganization of one of the largest and exclusive golf club communities in North America. His work included implementing communication and coordination programs with the high-profile community leaders and club management and service employees and the establishment of a new fractional real estate development program.
Rudy’s capital market investment experience includes jump-starting a public non-traded REIT’s efforts in assigned asset classes and executing investment strategies for properties focusing on golf, health clubs, resorts, and other lifestyle amenities using state of the art ROI analytical and presentation methods. He had direct involvement in the acquisition of single asset and portfolio golf courses worth in the aggregate over $600 million.
Over the course of a very productive international career he was responsible for constructing, marketing, opening and/or operating clubs resulting in revenue growth, geographic expansion, and strategic asset integrations and disposals. In addition to world class club and resort projects in the United States, his global experience includes developing and operating private golf and city clubs located in China, South East Asia, Europe, and South Africa.
He was ranked in 2006, 2007 & 2008 by Golf Inc. Magazine “The 25 Most Powerful People in Golf” and his accomplishments and their impact were regular subject material for industry publications. He is a regular speaker and contributor at industry conferences.
Utilizing a trustworthy executive presence he is skilled in bringing expansive thinking into actionable plans keeping stakeholders and clients focused on the relevant issues in the midst of complex and emotional situations. He is able to work effectively with not-for-profit Club Boards and working committees to help balance the values and traditions of passionate private club institutions with the demands of changing social structures and a challenging economic environment. He understands profit and loss, sales & marketing, change management, team building and leadership, corporate vision and strategic planning. He is authoritative in areas of expertise and articulate in presenting ideas and points of view to audiences.
Rudy received his Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Siena College and has been active in the Urban Land Institute, the Society of International Business Fellows, the Club Manager’s Association of America, and the National Golf Course Owners Association.
